If you receive sick pay, you have to expect a lower income. The amount of the sick pay is 70 percent of the gross income, but no more than 90 percent of the net income. It is legally entitled to health insurance. It is paid if the employee has been on sick leave for more than six weeks or is undergoing rehabilitation. Within the first six weeks there is a continued payment by the employer.
Credit despite sickness benefit
Who wants to apply for a loan despite sick pay, should not wait too long. The longer the illness lasts, the harder it is to get a loan approved. Normally nothing speaks against a loan during illness. However, it depends on whether the employee can ever return to work or whether he or she will become disabled. If it starts from the latter, then it will be difficult with a loan.
Credit despite sickness benefits with guarantor
If the bank refuses a loan, there is still the possibility to try it with a guarantor. One should, however, be aware of the fact that he has to pay for the loan if the borrower can no longer pay the installment. Whether this should be at the expense of friendship is extremely questionable. Another possibility would be to ask relatives for help. Maybe it is possible to get along without a loan.
If an end to the disease is foreseeable
If an end to the illness, such as after a cure, is foreseeable, then it would not be difficult for the bank to grant a loan. In this case, it can be assumed that the borrower resumes work after the end of rehab measures.
